Basic Life Support is a primary course for saving lives after cardiac arrest. It is designed for all healthcare providers in & outside hospitals (Primary health care centers, Dispensaries, School nurses…).
It focuses on a standard ABCDE approach to initial treatment of the cardiac arrest including the use of automated external defibrillators (AED).
Objectives: After finishing this course, the participant should be able to:
- Recognize cardiac arrest
- Perform High-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for victims of all the ages
- Describe the importance of early use of an Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
- Perform effective ventilation by using a barrier device
- Describe the importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation
- Describe the technique for relief of foreign body airway obstruction for adult and child
Target audience: This course is mandatory to all healthcare professionals in the Lebanese hospitals as required by the Ministry of Public Health (Lebanese accreditation standards 2019)
